Hey, as a private tutor I can't blame him from separating lazy people from their money; information is valuable and some people can't be bothered to research it.

Seems kind of lame, but then again, I'm not really sold on the whole motivational speaker/consultancy market from what I've seen of it. Nice racket if you can get it; but just doesn't sit right with me the cost/benefit of these gigs.

How did they manage to make a night flight under NVG's with loud rock music in the background seem so boring????
 
I guess it's already been said, but I have to reiterate. It doesn't matter how badly you want it, or if you read a certain book. The Navy will give you everything you need to smoke the program, as far as reference materials. True, there are some things that may make life easier, such as form fillable jet logs as you slog through Primary instruments, but these things are free, and usually best aquired from your friends who just went through. Also, the key is what Mefesto already said, the kicka@@ grades have to coincide with a USN need for jet pilots. There's no secret formula, just work hard.

Loud Rock Music can make ANYTHING seem exciting though.

For example:

99.9% of being a grunt is pretty boring. Cleaning weapons, sitting in a fighting hole looking at the desert, etc...

But it's cool when you are a grunt...with loud rock music.
 
The Coast Guard gave us a presentation on their Guardian jets during Primary once... set to loud, heavy music.... real moto right? Except it was video of the jet flying straight and level the entire time.
