Are you serious??? Are you afraid to be around other dudes fairy boy?
A little harsh with the new guy don't you think? It was an honest question. Let's give the guy at least 9 or 10 post before we trash him mercilessly. Are you serious??? Are you afraid to be around other dudes fairy boy?
We don't polish corvettes, we use cruise socks.....Sometimes men want to do private things(Polishing the Corvette).
Typically 2, 4, 8 or 12 man staterooms. Everyone gets their own desk, drawers and wall locker. 1 or more sinks (depending on room size) in the rooms. Community bathroom ("head" in Navy speak) for the officers who have staterooms in the area. It's crowded but livable. Far better than the enlisted guys get in the berthing compartments. The more senior you are, the less number of roommates. What is it like in the rooms?
Life on an aircraft carrier isn't good then?
What's the deal with the water temp? When I was on the Tarawa, the showers sucked, always cold. Now that I work on the Discoverer Enterprise (Offshore Drill Rig) the water is always 4000 degrees and now the showers are painful.UInavy said:(Except that it will gently rock, the water will have a varying and inconsistent range of temperatures and there will generrally be a layer of moisture on everything.)
?Nukes are much better about that stuff over convientional boats.

If you were on a Nimitz class carrier in the Persian Gulf in the summer, you'd be praying for cold showers. The potable water tanks reside in the double hull of the ship, and since the seawater temp averages about 98 degrees F, so does the pot water. This might not be a bad thing for someone who sits in air conditioning all day, but for those of us who spent most of the day in a 120 degree Main Machinery Room, or those poor saps who spent their days on a dark grey metal flight deck, hot showers were a bane. Out of curiosity, where is your Rig? Gulf of Mexico? What's the deal with the water temp? When I was on the Tarawa, the showers sucked, always cold.
