Yeah that’s how I feel. But you don’t have to leave either. I’ll be around week 11-12 at point so I’m just going to stay. Wait to see family when I graduate

My recruiter told me the most common reason he's seen people not get picked up is marijuana. He said that in all his years of seeing boards go through, disclosing even having done it once was enough to guarantee a no for a pilot applicant. Apparently they're super strict about that. Sorry dude. Maybe try another service branch?

Seems like the acceptance rate of NFOs wasn’t as high as SNAs which is unusual. I guess it might depend on the extent of use but we’ve seen people come thru here with mj disclosures and get picked up fine.

Even for one time use? That’s a crazy amount of applicants that get weeded out (no pun intended) just like that

Logically it makes no sense to me, but yes that is verbatim what was said to me. I feel like there has to be nuance to it in reality -- rejecting a qualified applicant when we're in a pilot deficit seems counterproductive. Personally I would definitely reapply if I was OP who had gotten rejected.
 
I’ve been begging my recruiter for the August 2nd class date and he seems to not have any idea how people are getting them lol

I disclosed my marijuana use (Last use in March of 2025) on this application and got picked up. For what it's worth, it was non-waiverable. It is (unofficially) a disqualifier for ISEL, but you can get picked up at a regular board. For my first submission (15SEP), it was within one year, and given how competitive that board was, yea it was pretty much an automatic no, but now that it's been more than a year, it, for lack of a better term, got disregarded? My OR told me that they're getting more lenient, especially now that it is legal in a lot of places. I know the wait sucks, but don't give up if this is what you wanna do bro.

My recruiter didn’t seem concerned about it. Talked to them about it at MEPS and they seemed unconcerned as well. Nobody talked about a waiver to me at any point. Smoked once in a legal state several years ago. I already don’t qualify for ISEL so that doesn’t concern me much
