I've been following this thread for the past few weeks getting a kick out of your guys' posts. Thanks for the good reads lol. For reference mine was the Aug 2025 IWC board and it took us like 10ish weeks to get results back. Hopefully it won't come to that!

Stay away from army aviation unless you're seriously interested and willing to wait a long time. I have friends who graduated and "commissioned" who don't go to AVBOLC until summer 2027 and the pipeline is a nightmare right now. They're also cutting a ton of pilot billets and the whole branch is just a mess.

Hence the reason why myself and my family came to the quick conclusion that I wouldn't do the Marines or Army. My father was Army NG, and even then, it did not sound like a good time.

I have 3 friends from home in the army, I have yet to be told one good thing about it

My ex was trying to convince me to join Army, I broke up with them a couple weeks later (they were already in the Army). I did not want to deal with that

Probably the wise choice, hope everything is good now!

I tried for USAF OTS first with competive scores but (apparently?) not enough professional experience or high enough ranking LORs (my guess, comparing my package to those who were selected lololol)...

After not getting selected, I decided that instead of waiting for more boards, Navy ISEL was the golden path for me, quick and to the point - let's get this show on the road!

Gave my recruiter my earliest ship date as June, back in February

Bottom line - happy to be in this waiting game with you all hahaha, it will be well worth it

Yeah, I had an Air Force officer slot a couple months ago. Just contingent on me graduating college. However, some medical issues came up and the Air Force rescinded it. Already medically qualified for the Navy, just need a slot.
