1001 questions (and answers) concerning BDCP

Confirm with your OR, but when you receive your first paycheck, you should be able to go to your local RAPIDS ID office and obtain your CAC. Afterwards, you should have access to your health benefits, but make sure to call Tricare to confirm everything.
Thanks, assuming since I don't have an official way to show it that I cannot get any free food today.

I took my oath of enlistment on Friday, and I was wondering when I am able to start using my benefits. I do not have a CAC yet, so I don't know how I could prove I am military if I do have access to benefits.
I also signed my contract on Friday. He told me when I get my first paycheck we'll go to the local base and get a CAC. He said it usually takes 6-8 weeks, but with the shutdown, expect longer

going to get my CAC on monday, how strict were they with grooming standards? i don't have super long hair or anything, and i have a mustache. is that okay? should i play it safe and just get a haircut?

I don’t think I was in regs lowkey, I just have a normal haircut. Good thinking though it didn’t cross my mind. I think you should be good unless your recruiter says otherwise.

Also, would anyone know if I can apply for a job through USA jobs to work at the on-base commissary a couple days a week. Not sure if I can since i’m technically active duty.

Also you should be able to get a job, as long as it doesnt affect your academics. I currently work as a VA work study and my recruiter hasnt said anything about that.
