At what bases are they flying the T-6A for primary? Its seems like one heck of a plane to train in.

I am at Moody, we have it here and it has been up and running for about 15months. As far as the Navy side, they are starting to get a squadron of them off the ground in pensacola (for the NFOs), but no love for pilots right now. If you want to get the Texan, you have to undergo the AF training...

Thanks, and How about Vance AFB or they still using the lesser T-37? The T-6A performance seems amazing on paper, but how does it fair with the trainees?

Vance is still using the Tweet (37), although they are on the drawing board to get the Texan in the near future. It is a lot of aircraft, but not too bad overall. The attrition rate here is no more than normal, and when you come out you are a much better aviator b/c you are used to everything moving fast (200kias in the pattern) and have the index finger strength to run the new glass cockpits. Having the ejection seat is a nice thing too (no bailout required). Plus which self-respecting pilot would fly something called the 'Tweet'...
