FAIPs are studs that did well and fly as an IP their first full tour post flight school. After those 3-4 years they compete for a platform and head out to the fleet. I’ve never heard of anyone doing an entire career as a FAIP.
I suppose a lot of things possible and there are certainly people out there with unusual circumstances, but there would be a lot of pressure to get out of the flight school bubble for at least one operational tour. Everywhere a guy like that would turn, chain of command, personnel command, peers, even the hundredth time a flight student innocently asked "so what did you fly, sirrrrr?"

I know AF dudes (non-pilots) who were top students in their career-specific training and whose first tour was to stay with the schoolhouse to be an instructor. But that was one tour only, and they are forced to move on (also in their best interest).
