I want to be a fighter pilot but I'd fly pretty much anything. Someday I plan on going to TPS and someday becoming an astronaut and I'd have a slightly better chance of getting into TPS in the Air Force. Also I know Air Force drill because I'm in Civil Air Patrol. However I really don't want to become a drone pilot especially after going through officer training and college so I'm leaning towards the Navy. Also In the Navy they land on aircraft carriers which might make them better pilots. However if I don't get pilot or CSO or NFO then I would like to be a space systems officer or a physicist and those jobs are not in the navy. Lastly, this may sound odd but I like the navy's blue camouflage uniforms so that is another pro for the navy however they might be getting rid of them.
I'm planning on going to the naval or air force academy or Embry-riddle and studying aerospace engineering or physics. I'd also like some insight into the differences between air force UPT and the equivalent naval flight training and if one is easier than the other. Also how important are the 2 years of foreign language to get into the service academies. Lastly, at the service academies how long do they yell at you for (is it just basic cadet training or all 4 years). Thanks in advance for replying.
