Yeah, that's not really how a federal government works.

For clarification, the suggestion came from Jason Kenney (leader of Alberta's United Conservative Party). He was referencing Ottawa's decision to deny Saskatchewan funding for projects since they did not approve a carbon tax. He was hoping for something similar to be enacted against BC.

Things really getting sporty north of the border as Alberta and now Saskatchewan threaten to reduce oil and gasoline to British Columbia.

Saskatchewan joining Alberta in B.C. Trans Mountain fight by tabling its own oil ban bill

Premier Scott Moe says Saskatchewan will join Alberta in a fight with B.C. over the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion by introducing its own legislation on oil exports.

Perhaps a civil war is imminent.

If you would like a primer on the ongoing dispute, this is pretty good. It will have political ramifications as Trudeau runs for re-election in 2019. (on or before 21 Oct 2019).

Late edit for the Washington Post's take on the situation and how it could impact the next Canadian election.

That is the stupidest article I’ve read in a while. Solar and wind are becoming cheaper, but they’re still more expensive than mainstream electrical generating plants. Not a lot of mystery to that one. Thanks for the clickbait.

Interesting article in Forbes. As renewables have decreased in price, the electricity generated has increased in price, Germany being a prime example.

If Solar And Wind Are So Cheap, Why Are They Making Electricity So Expensive?

I really don't get the hate against wind and solar, they are very low impact and are literally free sources of energy. It's kind of like not wanting to buy chocolate chip cookies because folks will eat them, it's irrational.

Solar and wind are more like oatmeal raisin cookies... still pretty good. You know, the fact is, half the country used to be wind before they hydroelectriced up the whole durn place. We're gonna see a brave new world, yessir.

Thank you. I continue to be flummoxed at people's stated reasons for hating the oatmeal raisin cookie... the most absurd of which seems to involve the notion that they were deceived into thinking that it was a chocolate chip cookie, then realized it wasn't. What manner of man blames an innocent cookie for their own sensory-based shortcomings?

But whose fault is that? Why hate the cookie when what you really deserve is a healthy dose of self-loathing? My ability to correctly ID the two cookies from across the wardroom approaches 100%. Who are these people that lack this simple skill?
