Don't be afraid. The RW ops within FW airwings are the subject of endless controversy and every carrier operator has its own views with very little attention to the others. Brits made their "tailored" airgroup concept from the debris of the doubts the RW as such can operate from the same deck that FW uses - more RW pilots and observers in RN had been transited from FW than trained from the scratch so they had very respected people within and opinion they have the right to fuck around. Just for example - the senior observer should command the aircraft and being TACCO for overall ASW efforts, thus command the scene. Soviet SSNs are the main danger, so why the fuck should he tolerate the fighter squadron deck activity?
What about Russians, the RW of big decks had always viewed themselves, too, as ASW and nothing more. Even SAR version of Ka-27 was the deck adaptations and not specially built aircraft for first 8 years of service. And of course no vertrep by this helo. A carrier Kuznetsov, being one foot in the grave from 1995 due to the boilers' weakness, had always been a disposable "fighter carrier" with no need of constant replenishment and COD as well.

Charles de Gaulle has enormous problems with reactors - they are just 150 MWe each, the same amount of power the SSBNs of French Navy have, the KN-3 nuke boiler of Kirov-class is twice more powerful, but Kirovs haven't to provide the steam for cats. So the situation when proper WOD for the Rafales and Hawkeyes to launch wouldn't be achieved is quite real. Having just a couple of RWs aboard, this carrier is doomed to become sitting duck I think...
