Question about ROTC unit commanders

What rank are the UCs? How are they assigned to certain colleges? Are they assigned randomly wherever theres a space, do they get to choose, or are they assigned to a college near their home?

All Naval ROTCs are O-6s. IE Navy Captain or Marine Corps Colonel.
As far as how they are selected, don't worry about it, it is well above my paygrade

All NROTC CO's are O-6's. The detailing process is kinda complicated but basically, it's a combination of what the O-6 wants versus what is open. I wouldn't worry about it. Just pray you get a good CO who will help you out if you are in a bind like mine did. Good luck.
