I totally missed the "positive message"...to your peers in today's NFO community. That's between you and them, I guess.

As for us "old guys": No worries...you're joining a long list of very distinguished Naval Aviators who thought much the same since the birth of the NFO community. I've given chapter and verse before, on other threads, about my frank assessment of NFOs being...earlier in time...a "bridge to operational capability" offered by the technology available in the day. That was ground truth then...I have no idea what ground truth is today.

I will assume, until evidence to the contrary is provided, that the multi-crewed aircraft of today are designed and built for that for a good reason. I doubt it remains only as some sort of a "Big Navy" EO imperative.

My point being, sir, even if entirely smothered in poor prose, is that the NFO in my humble opinion, serves a special tactical purpose, and shouldnt feel that they need to prove their worth in admin......we've got that stuff on lockdown, but you talented folks can help us out in the finer points of Naval Air.....you know, where the money is probably really made

The Navy wouldn't have both platforms if there weren't pros to each one. Can we just leave it at that and let this poor threadjack die?

Okay...I get your point. Thanks.

Blah, blah, blah "single seat", blah, blah, blah "butt hurt", blah, blah blah, "but I'm important", blah, blah, "seriously dude, I agree with you", blah, blah, blah, "PHROGS FOREVER", blah, blah, blah... "back to the Growler."

I think that pretty much sums it up.
Back to the porn and masturbation!

Well, I've come full circle, and I just started the Growler RAG as a CAT II EWO this week. As I go through, I'm going to do my best to use this thread to give an updated syllabus flow and a summary of each phase.

As a CAT II, I will have some events waived, but I'll make sure to clarify which ones I skip for any EWO wannabes that end up reading this. Questions/comments? Fire away!

As someone who will be doing a cat 2 syllabus in a year or so, I'd love to hear about your experiences and opinions on how the training differed from the B side.

Will do! I'll PM you as appropriate. Any idea which squadron you're going to yet?
