What's the difference between 1)a Military Collegething like the Citadel and 2) a service academy??

Can you get a comission upon graduation both ways??

Here's some basic differences:

A service academy requires that you serve a number of years as a commissioned officer after you graduate.

At a military college like The Citadel or VMI, you don't necessarily have to serve, but these colleges have ROTC programs for cadets to obtain a commission. For instance, my neighbor went to The Citadel on a football scholarship and graduated, but decided not to pursue a commission.
