I'm shooting for an OCC aviation slot in the USMC, I've passed the ASTB already. I went and took the DODMERB exam, everything seemed okay for everything but the eye exam. My left eye is just under 20/40, right eye is good to go. Doc said it could be correctable to 20/20 with a set of BCGs. However, DODMERB gave me a D155.41, "visual acuity not correctable to 20/20." My OSO said that I may have to go get another exam, and then apply for a waiver. He said if I can't get a waiver, I'm permanently SOL. I've always been able to see fine and I never wore glasses. Has anyone here been through anything similar? Thanks in advance.

Mike
