Then again, back when I was in my airwing banned all patches except the CVW patches because they got out of control.

According to the Daily Caller, these patches have been around for a few years and even appeared on a Navy/DoD Twitter feed at some point.

I want to say I've seen at least one on an aircrew at the RAG before I retired.
Still, the comments on social media are precious. It seems as if there is a "suitable outrage" generator on the market that allows people to put in words like "patch," "military," and "politics" and just get a bunch of crap to cut and paste.

My VT-7 CQ class had patches with Marylyn Monroe that said something like “I bounced on JFK.” Bet that wouldn’t go over well anymore...
