Thanks for replying to the messege. I wanted to ask you, did the Navy really fund the F-18 project? Also, what was the real reason behind it? Who flies it? How fast is it? How powerfull are those engines? Thanks.

Yes the F-18 was sponsored by the NAVY. The were going to use it as a test bed for the Super Hornet. Unfortunately due to shoddy contract work, an aileron flew off and crashed. Those were Olympus engines rated between 35-45 lbs of thrust per engine.
THe pilot was an employee of NC State. Don't know how fast it was.

Oh no, I can't believe it crashed. I would never have the gutts to spend so much money and put so much time into something that could vanish that easily. I have never seen any R/C Jets, but I did find a club near by and now i'm just waiting for a nice sunny day to go see them. I got some pics of jets that you guys would love. I will scan them in and place them on this site. By the way, how do I post pics on here?
