I'd like to increase my plank times so that I'm well above good-low and even into excellent or outstanding. I'm not entirely sure the best way to practice for and improve upon the plank. Is it best to just plank for as long as you can and try to increase that time by a few seconds every couple of days, or is it better to try and do sets of like 1 minute each for a few sets? Anyone have any other tips?
Also, as for the plank itself is it recommended to squeeze your glutes for the entire time? I've tried it both ways where I don't and I do squeeze and I get around the same time each time but I've read its much better to squeeze your glutes so that you're 100% activating your core.
