The more of a graybeard I become, the more I realize SOCOM is sorta like the dude in the squadron that always bums a dip from other people. As soon as he has to buy his own can, he’s all of a sudden ‘trying to quit’

Again, a great weapon for P-8s to carry...

That's like saying we should put LRASM on LCS. Not a bad idea if we had 10,000 LRASMs, but we don't. Putting them on an independent, defenseless FRU could end up being a waste of a pretty great weapon.

Or by giving them to a maritime asset who could do some good, it frees up the heavies for their own missions with the JASSM.
