What is advancment process like? Does your commander just decide its time for you to advance a rank? What is a typical time frame for this?

Also, how soon after OCS can we request to augment from navy reserve to full Navy?

2 years to LTJG
2 more years to LT, at the 4 year mark you can augment.

Typically you go up for LCDR at the 10 year mark, this is the first promotion that isn't automatic.

You'll probably learn this at OCS too, so worry about that first.
