If you landed on the piano keys instead of at the 2 board, would you still need that extra 1000 feet?

KNIP just added 1000’ in the last couple years and reinforced a couple thousand at each end to deal with the P-8. 9000ish’ at sea level. Not sure if they have an EMAS at either end of that runway and too lazy to look. It doesn’t appear to have one on the St. John’s side; at least if it does, it didn’t work.

Will be interesting to see what happened whenever the NTSB is done with their report.

I’m just disappointed I missed the towing down the river. Was staying at NGIS there this week and would have had a perfect vantage point. Didn’t know it was happening until I was out running errands.
