One word - manning. They're installing (maybe complete now) an automated system for swipe access 24/7.
We don’t have enough non-deployable pregnant chicks between all of the squadrons and the ship bases down south to man a few gates? FFS I sent enough out of V-2 alone to man a gate 24/7 with two people on 8 hour shifts with a few extras to boot...

Making pregnant chicks work an 8 hour shift that requires standing strikes me as a bit of an unforced error optics-wise.

I know someone that (allegedly) did Tacoma to Anacortes on a Friday afternoon a few months ago...in 1 hour flat. I...just...I don't...
Gotta call bullshit on that one. Unless that was in some car I've never heard of or KTCM to KNUW in a plane haha. Aside from that there is absolutely no way. I have been routinely making the drive from northern Seattle to NASWI and the shortest that has ever been is about an hour and fifteen.

Could prob be an hour flat if WA morons ever migrated right, out of the passing lane, on I-5. Just saying

Those are the Southern Californians who moved to Seattle. You'll also spot them driving 10 under in the rain.

Seattle to Mt. Vernon is about an hour, to OH is about 1+30 and Anacortes is slightly less. Speeding and without traffic it’s definitely less but you’re still looking at just over an hour to 1+15. Tacoma to
Seattle is about 45 min without traffic. On a typical day, OH to Tacoma is closer to 3-3+30

I would say that your travel times from Whidbey/Anacortes to center mass downtown Seattle in average non-rush hour traffic are optimistic by 15-20 minutes. It has gotten worse.

Awesome. Typically, it’d be about 2 hrs to downtown from Anacortes on a Fri night.

I dunno, they've been there basically my entire life......though the infiltration started a long time back. I remember a billboard near the Eugene (my hometown) airport in maybe the late '80's/early 1990's, that was an advertisement for the state lottery......it was a picture of the US, with California physically broken off and drifting out to sea, with the slogan "Luck can happen".
