I didn't know you were on Dubuque last year. Or perhaps you were at "Helicopter Squadron North Island." Either way, I don't want to know what you and TB have been doing for the past 15 years. I just hope you didn't catch whatever you've got from him. Edit: Please note that the 44-year old LPD that did not cost $2 Billion...and was completed in only a year and a half (and deployed within months of commissioning)...is still kicking names and taking ass.
We have a nice, friendly American Legion Post here in Lemon Grove. Seems like it might be a good venue for 'Warriors' to meet & greet informally. More info if any interested. BzB
I like your choice of beer BZB! Sounds good gents, I'm generally free after about 1600 on Fri's and all day Sat. If I don't frag myself and die during live day next week, count me in
Love to be there, but I'll be haze gray & underway for the month of May. Have fun without me. -ea6bflyr
Not that I know of, considering the regular AW posters on here in Jax mostly consist of you, me, scoolbubba, and websan. I would be amenable to such a gathering however.
Probably should start hitting up the Club on Fridays.... I actually haven't been there yet so I dont know if it's worth while. However I do have friends in my class who mentioned getting a Friday club tradition going, and even though they aren't cool enough to be AW members I suppose we could invite them along as well.
What the hell are you doing before 1600 on Friday? You're not in a fleet squadron - you're not allowed to work that late on Fridays yet.
If any of you AW's ever make it ti Waco, TX let me know and the first round will be on me! I have met several Aw's at air shows but the only one that comes to mind is scoolbubba, and that was at the Ft Worth Alliance Air Show 2009. If any others remember me please chime in! :icon_mi_1 For the most part all others were lurkers!
According To my CO, I can now plan to spend my Saturday night on a plane to Bahrain. I could do earlier in the week, but Fridays going to be with the Fam. Otherwise, I'll join y'all in a month or so....
San Dogg M & G In case option #1 above is OK, see address/map info. If not, make suggestions. If next weekend (6-7 May), time grows short. My only restriction...Cinderella, gotta be home by dark (due to recovering from surgery), so NLT 1600 start for me either day. For any other suggested venues, please include addresses for us who use GPS (sure wish we had it in the Skyhawk back in the day)! BzB, sounds like a good suggestion for a venue. Just be advised that it's in the boonies, so true silliness will have to be reserved until we're in cab range.
I'm down for whatever, wherever, and whenever. I'll just need a few weeks' notice so that I can route the request to my boss, who is a bit of a slave driver with a penchant for coming up with Good Ideas. Fortunately, I've got a good PPT shell on SharePointS that I can pretty much just fill in the blanks with information. Just need the usual stuff: Location; time; ingress route; alternate ingress route; egress route; alternate egress route; primary/secondary/tertiary/4th-ierty transportation plans; Arrive Alive card usage statistics for everyone in attendance; updated RED; identification and location of the senior officer present (for witch hunt purposes); completed HARP form (with vehicle inspection results); PFT/CFT completion status; picture for the command board (in desert and woodland MARPAT, and Service Dress Blue Echos); and estimated urinalysis sample dates (immediately before and after). Oh, and I'll probably have to enroll in an MCI or two. It's really no biggie - just some painless "engaged leadership."
