What to send a deployed spouse?

Oh, and if you don't approve of your husband looking at racy pictures of someone's wife, perhaps you should take that up with him, rather than making sure no one else can look at them either. Weird. I can't imagine. And for the XO to take the photos is insane. How about telling the guy you've gotten some complaints and asking hit to be a bit more discreet, if you must do something?

That being said, has anyone ever had a bachelor CO/XO in aviation? I've never had one who did not meet the "Family Man" type. Seriously.

We did back in Mid-90s. The XO was very strict and it was noted that our front office was like Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock.

Both Jewish?

(Sorry, that was a softball for those of us listening to Adam Sandler in the mid-90s :) )

Good friend of ours is single, always has been...probably always will be. He was XO/CO of a Hornet squadron in Japan back 2001-2004 time frame.

We did a playboy calendars back in the early 90’s. We cut out the heads of the wives and glued them over the faces of the models. It was a huge hit in the ready room. (this was in the days before there were women onboard the carrier)

We would also routinely send Playboy, Hustler, etc., mags out in every group care package.

This. I figured that even if something wasn't DH's cup of tea, surely there is someone onboard who was into Farm Animals Gone Wild, Hairy Senior Sluts, or whatever else I find to send. Especially now that he's on a ship with jet guys. ;)

"Barn Yard Babes" particularly was popular. :) We had so much fun and spent a crazy amount of time coming up with unique XXX rated care packages. I have a feeling about 90% of what we did would not be allowed in today's PC Navy.

Not a fleet dude, but my primary XO (then CO) was a bachelor. Never got the impression that he lived on the wild side though....

If you are referring to -27, then yes he was a bachelor at the time. I think he was out at drink specials more than me.

I onload almost a triwall of stuff.

As much diet coke with lime as I can fit under the bed, and 2 cases of good Charmin Ultra Strong. Nothing sucks like "Schwarmaing" and having to deal with the shit that has the structural strength of butter and tactile feel of 80 grit.

Regular toilet paper is okay on the ship? In that case, I am going to include this in the next package I send, and perhaps suggest Husband tuck some in the corners of a sea bag when he heads out. Thanks!

I think someone mentioned coffee. Definitely, if deployed spouse is a coffee fiend. Most boats, you get the crap Navy coffee, which neither tastes good nor supples the requisite buzz. IKE at least had a captain who was a feind, and the wardroom had Starbucks in the pots. Win!
