I know the SLC policy has been covered on this website in depth. However, I am scheduled for my flight physical later this month, and in the process of obtaining all of my eye exam records since being fitted for contacts, which I have been wearing over 2 years now with no issues. One of the requirements is a 6-month follow-up examination after getting fitted for contacts. It was a good while longer than that, after I got fitted with contacts, before I went back for a checkup. When I did go back, there were no issues, no change in my eyes, etc. However, is there a strict requirement for a check-up at the 6-month mark, or is it just the fact that you have been back to the eye doctor more than 6 months after getting contacts, and your eyes are doing fine?
I know there are only a couple of you on the board with experience with this, so anything you may have run into will be appreciated. The OSO is a big help, but just has no experience with this because it is so new, so anyone that has been through it will be a big help before I show up for the physical.
