You remember when AW was just a journal of one guy's training. Before the message board format came alive.
As it is I went to Wally World today and put "A LIFE" on layaway. It will be all mine in 11 more months.
If your AW join date corresponds to being single, with nothing on the horizon - and now you're married and your wife became a moderator before you did.
#457 You can remember when I was actually happily married and the ex would bring me a beer when I was surfing AW.
Haven't been around quite that long. And for #458... you have one of the first 10 posts on this thread. While I'm at it, I'll post #459: You've had a discussion with MB about whether your ex or his was the bigger manatee (and by bigger, I don't mean size wise... I mean whose the bigger mooch and b* )
#462 "Your" OIC asks you to tell the "newbies" about "that one forum..." (quotes used since not techincally in the Navy at all yet, which may make it worse... :-D)
Ha! I haven't mined deeply into AW in about 2 years, and I come across this post from 5.5 years ago. Unless things have changed, I really don't give a shit what Brett thinks about anything, much less my date for the event-du-jour. Maybe he should start a Perez Hilton site. Maybe he IS Perez Hilton.
Aww,... c'mon. I haven't been around here in a while. I just had to have a little fun, and stir the pot!
#464 You've hit your 1,000th post after a mere 3 yrs 27 days since 1st post on 04-06-09. I was initially invited by the venerable Brownshoe, a fellow alumni of VA-44 @ Cecil. Given my background, I was quickly 'vetted' by A4s & and the old hands, as a few POSER phonies (skeeterman, et al) had been popping up, quickly debunked & dog-piled into oblivion! Overall, I've enjoyed actively participating, been bored silly by a few threads where poor horses were beaten to shreds, been amazed at times by the sheer arrogance of a few whiney 'wannabees', who when questions weren't answered to their liking, became combative/sarcastic. They either had an attitude adjustment... or were hooted into hiding. On the other hand, I've made my share of mistakes/misstatements & had to make a public apology on several occasions. Another shortcoming (as several have noted), is my fondness for emoticons! Well...they are there... and available, and I think they give character to a post. Sooo, that having been said, a personal statistical exercise: To date, I have posted at a rate of 0.855 p/per day. Projecting out at that rate, I would tie the all-time leading poster A4sForever (9,214 & inactive), in 26 years - 116 days...on 19 Oct. 2038, at the age of 104 3/4! Gotta keep strokin'. HOWEVER, the #2 all-time poster Brett327 (8,165 & active), will long since have passed the leader, so this whole exercise is MOOT!!! Hail to, soon to be 'AW Post King' Brett! BTY, tomorrow is the 46th anniversary of the demise of the 'real' BusyBee604. RIP gallant steed! View attachment 10042 View attachment 10043 BzB Born: 12/05/34 Reborn: 06/25/66 Passed: Not yet ready!
I said that as a kid...and now I'm awaiting the O-4 board results...Lord only knows what the kids are saying these days. Probably something about sexting.
You joined when you were about to start NROTC, but now your fleet callsign has to do with AW, and CAG paddles calls you by your AW handle
Once again proving, that everything's relative... to me, you are a kid! When my children were kids, it was 'that's baaad, Dad'. In my kid days it was 'far out' or 'max cool'. BTW, best of luck with the hinge board, despite the JOPA needling, it's a big step. BzB
#465 When your number of posts exceeds your flight hours...or is it the opposite? I finally passed my post number with flight hours in January 2012...
