edit: I see you already have an 11-87, so this may be a worthless post. So be it.
Not at all -- that's what I wanted to hear: input from guys who have one/either and could expand my 'knowledges' base w/ their viewpoints to help me make a decision to keep the 11-87 and get the Saiga anyway ....

Now THIS might be a worthless post ... yours, however, was not.

I have an 870 12ga that is my choice for both hunting and use on jailbirds. Got a couple of barrels, a 20" and a 28", it has been parkerized and the stock oil finished. It started out as a Trap gun and was pretty etc. Now its a serious hunting gun and house defense. If I have to use more than five shots in my house I'm already in such deep shit that a few more shot capacity won't do much and I'll have to go to the 1911.
It doesn't take too many malfunctions with a semi-auto, or finicky with ammo to sour me on them. Certainly not enough interest on my part to buy "the latest greatest" when this one has worked to perfection for the past 35+ years.

I recall seeing a black powder punt gun at Harolds Club in Reno back in the 50's when the gun collection was on display. I seem to recall it was something like a 4 ga? Had about 10 foot bbl. I had a really hard time shooting it offhand <ggg>
Was there to shoot the Nevada State Rifle Championships with the team out of El Toro.
