@ChuckMK23 Yup, but it comes out of 7F, so outfitting an entire squadron is a big outlay.

I've heard of groundswells to make it an issued item at the FRS since the fleet is getting the CMU-37/38s, but that would have to come from CNAF's money. I'm doubtful it will become a thing.

Perhaps no better epitome of "cool:"with a flight jacket is LT Harry Brubaker, USNR, sporting the G1 and Aviation Greens. Deployed on the USS Oriskany in the Sea of Japan

Anyone know where I can get the large (5"x7"ish) Navy Jack patch? Google/eBay are failing me. Seen them on folks' Nomex, usually 7th Fleet types

Do you mean the no step on snek Navy Jack? I found mine onboard the PCU Reagan, but I usually see them at the exchange.

Just got a G1-style jacket Dark Horse Leather out the main gate of Osan AB. After looking carefully (everyone has heard of Osan jackets), Dark Horse and Oxford are the best ones for Navy/Marine Corps style leather jackets. Both have the zip out liner and the blood chit inside along with pockets for your hands and multiple pockets on the inside. Both are genuine leather. Oxford seemed to only sell you a jacket off the shelf though, whereas Dark Horse takes your measurements and custom makes the jacket to fit you (only took them 3 days). The blood chit in Dark Horse looks a little more authentic, and they stitch your name on the inside. Both companies run about $200-220 for the jackets and do a ton of online business. Well worth it compared to my issued one I'd been wearing for the past 7 years.

I have a "Mike Forney" Bridges of Toko Ri helicopter patch on my civilian flight jacket - people of a certain age love it!
