Good: $4 40 oz Blue moons or imports at the Hawk.

Bad: Renaming the "Hawk" the "C@ck" because of the lack of females.

I think we all know who the dirtbags and quality officers were at TBS. Sounds like you are a little bitter from your personal experience. Most of the guys I knew who graduated at the top of the company or platoon deserved it. I think most guys were pretty accurate with peer evals. OCS, that's another story.

That number may not be 60%, but its high.

I would love to hear more about your hairstyle and wardrobe, but I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Meh, me personally I'm not bitter,.... It just seems that most top performers had a d*ck shoved halfway down their throats, always bullsh*ttin with the SPC and trying to become drinking buddies with the CO. You could tell who the SPC's favorites were and in a system such as this, that is unacceptable... also you could always tell when spear evals were coming around, because some people started doing more "favors". LOL who the f*ck volunteers for AOR's??? Oh wait peer rankings are next week.

TBS is great at introducing the basics... but all you have to do is "fake" the funk to do well there and game the system... by following as Swanee said a cookie cutter mold... and to those who genuinely wear high and tights 24/7 and sing the MC hymn before sleeping, well they will need therapy when they get out because they wont be able to cope with civilian life, the Marine Corps is all that defines them....

A quality officer in my opinion is one that can stand and challenge when necessary... even if that may destroy his career, because this officer usually has the best interest of his troops and ultimately the mission at heart.... How can you gauge this at TBS? You can't... Then you have the head bobbing, cocksucking, figureheads who will step on anybody even their own people because they are trying to get ahead. This behavior is easily spotted in TBS and there is an interesting correlation, most of them are in the top 20% and hold most of the billets throughout the POI....

Oh wait I forgot to mention another reason to fake the funk.... MOS MOS MOS... if you dont do well there you don't get what YOU want.... there is a reason there is a huge drop in motivation after FEX 3 any guesses as to why?

I was in Charlie Co 1983.

    Best-strippers at Mess night

Worst-getting the walleye from Capt "E-TOOL" Eng during tactics class. When that dude said "stand up Lt!" two Lts always jumped to their feet.

Maybe it's a difference in culture but the one you are describing is typically ranked towards the bottom over here. Ironically, they are the ones who give me the stink-eye when I roll back from DC in the morning with a slight lean in my step.

Lol good it should remain that way, I hope there really is no one in my company that sings the MC hymn every night before bed... there are a few that worry me though... What I was illustrating is that TBS is no where near the perfect model to judge leadership... it does an OK job but there are so many factors and so much gained from being ranked high. I just picture TBS a little different if everyone had their MOS's going in.... I dont think people would be half as frantic to impress.... my own roommate confessed that he would bullshit and have much more fun if he was "lucky" like us air contracts and knew his MOS.

Difference in culture? Based on your locations I'd say you're both at the same place at the same time.

Best- SPC calling all the air contracts into one room putting on aviators and ordering SNM's to play "Right Into the Dangerzone" while he dispels the latest Lt rumors which was at the time every air contract is going to IOC followed by deployment to Afghanistan, fail CWS 1 and you get redes'ed and oh I don't know the POTUS is transferring all USMC air assets to USAF so no one is going to flight school and you're all going to be an Adj, SuppO, or CommO ...

Worst- Every Lost Marine Plan ever created by every Lt who has or will attend TBS. Seriously, all LMP's are stupid even if they make sense.

On a serious note though range week sucked because of the 15 degree weather and 3 feet of snow on the ground but other then that TBS was a pretty good time but I think our SPC had a lot to do with that.

Here's one. I was in Delta. O'Bannon was being renovated so everybody was in Graves Hall, with 4 per room, one permanent and the other 3 "brown baggers," ie, they were allowed to stay out in town. My room was on the second deck of one of the legs of the U shaped Graves Hall. Directly across the U from my room a female in Fox company had a room. Us brown baggers would get into work around say 0530 or so, often dark, and we often couldn't help but notice that across the way, the female had her blinds up and the light on, while she was often getting ready...naked. It was pretty routine to get a show in the morning as she came out of the shower or pressed her cammies in the buff. Over the course of a month or two, it got worse. In the evening, particularly on Friday nights (as we discovered after getting fucked around at the armory cleaning weapons forever after being in the field all week) she would keep the blinds up and the lights on while she was fucking some dude. One night we were waiting around to be secured, and she was over there changing and hanging out naked again. Like 5-6 of us are hanging out in a room, joking about it, and one of the guys jumps up and says "I'm going over there." As we watch, he goes over to knock on the door, we see her go to the door and answer, and then shortly thereafter they are on the bed and our boy is going to town. Something like that is like a train wreck, hard to turn away. Turns out she was a bit of a nympho or perhaps needed attention, as the guys in her platoon said she came right out and told everybody that she was available "anytime, any place," and judging by the regular shows, she meant it.

Unbelievable, but you can't make shit like that up.

This thread sounds like every lunch at API with more than two 2nd Lts in the bunch.

Three 2nd Lts seemed to be critical mass to develop a radioactive pile of TBS bullshit stories.

You are right, those "one time at OCS" or "one time when I was sneaking back into the academy" stories never get told when there are 3+ OCS or academy dudes around.

Although some of the guys who finish at the top are certainly brown nosers, I'm convinced your statement is BS. Maybe your company was different, but in mine, most of the guys who finished at the top deserved it. Interestingly enough, many were air contracts.

Although some guys will go to great lengths to suck cock and finish at the top, that cocksucker still needs to be a PT stud, academically smart and a good leader. Straight up brown nosing won't help you. Because there were plenty of those too, and they were at the very bottom.

I never went to either of those. I was too busy telling stories about getting shit housed. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

If you are referring to the episode "The Apology" where Jerry's girlfriend is always doing stuff naked in his apartment, the air date was Dec 11, 1997. I was in Delta '97, so we saw our version of the "show" before you did.

Just lunch at API? I thought it was before class, during class, every 5 minute break, and might as well throw in after class too. And don't forget to add the Ensigns and USAF 2nd Lts in an outer circle around the bunch, sitting on the edge of their chairs listening to those bullshit stories.

Sir, yes they deserved to be #1, they definately worked for it (or blew for it).... what I was saying is that being #1 at TBS doesn't necessarily equate to a good leader...its good to have all those external intangibles PT, academics, tac billet leadership, but it doesn't mean shit if you're not selfless and don't understand the fact that its our job to take care of subordinates, ensure they're being promoted on time, ensuring their fitreps are done on time, getting to KNOW them <----(these are minimums). From my observations of some officers in the fleet, this selfless intangible seems to be lost to them.... the fact that we eat LAST shouldn't be some gimmicky gesture, it should actually mean something. Their needs come before ours....

There are external motivators that equate to personal gain by doing well at TBS. If you're number 1 you get your job and you are promoted ahead of your peers, its a self serving system that is supposed to produce selfless leaders....

    On another subject:
MESS NIGHT TONIGHT!!!! TIME TO GET DRUNK AND CRUNK BITCHES!!!!
LOL on a side note, I'm sitting right in front of the 0302 Captain I described earlier..... YAYYY ME!!!!!
