I suppose a lot of things possible and there are certainly people out there with unusual circumstances, but there would be a lot of pressure to get out of the flight school bubble for at least one operational tour. Everywhere a guy like that would turn, chain of command, personnel command, peers, even the hundredth time a flight student innocently asked "so what did you fly, sirrrrr?"FAIPs are studs that did well and fly as an IP their first full tour post flight school. After those 3-4 years they compete for a platform and head out to the fleet. I’ve never heard of anyone doing an entire career as a FAIP.
