The woman who inspired the Rosier the Riveter character recently passed away at the age of 96. She worked at NAS Alameda during the war.

I have a poster of the famous ad hanging in my hangar along with one of an all female B-17 crew. It speaks to the desperate times and the near 100% buy in to the war effort. It took a lot of confidence and courage for women of those times to take on those sort of roles.

During the war, my mother worked at the Switlick Parachute Company in New Jersey sewing parachute containers.
Probably the reason I became a PR.
