    HAHAHAHAHA Good one.

There actually are a few good places to eat in Corpus. If you like Mexican... Well, you're in the right place for it. If you don't like it, all I can say is that it's going to be a long few months. If asian food is more your speed, then I recommend the Imperial Cafe on Staples. Other than that... Hope you like Whataburger.

Snoopy's out on the island is good for seafood, and again most of its fried. I hear that Dragonfly, also on the island, is good but I've never been there. Then of course you've got all the chain places on SPID, but I'm sure you already know about those. So yeah, I think Gaijin got it right.

Downtown Corpus has the Water Street Seafood Co. and its sister, the Water Street Oyster Bar. Same menu, different atmosphere at each place, as the oyster bar is more casual. For late-night greasy food, you can't beat Hurb's - just up the street from the Burger King, and open for a couple of hours after the bars shut down.

I used to like Doc's (Dock's? Whatever.) on the island, but had a rash of extremely bad service. Bad as in our waitress disappeared for almost an hour because she was severely hungover and puking over the rail of the patio. The food isn't anything special, as the views and waterside dining make it what it is. The pollution from the refineries creates some spectacular sunsets. As for mexican, I had some great food at La Playa, which is right next to Outback on the SPID. BJs (of course) for pizza and beer. Speaking of beer, Hooters has 99 cent domestic drafts, not to include Shiner (??) on Thursdays after 9.

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the late night buffet at The Palace.

There is a real Hooters there now its not "Hoops" ? That place made me think of "McDowell's" in the movie coming to America.
Same outfit, not as hot and terrible food.

Yup, an actual Hooters. The waitresses are mosly Del Mar and tamucc girls, and you're likely to see them if you go out (read: downtown) on a semi-regular basis. That's not necessarily a good thing.

Chops in Destin is excellent, pricy, but the waiters actually know what they are doing, and the food is excellent.

I'd take Doc's over Snoopy's any day...The food at Snoopy's sucks. The service at Docs is really slow, but it is pretty good....

Yea The Playa is pretty good...

Madison's (12th and Gonzalez in East Hill Pensacola, the old Sacred Heart Hospital building on the Gonzalez side) is great - good soup, great quiche.

For desserts, there's a place just out the main gate of NAS Pensacola after you make the right onto Barrancas Blvd... it's a little sandwich shop on the left and the wait list for his cakes is a couple week long. The Hip Pocket... thank you google.

Or, if you're a man, you go to Hip Pocket on a Thursday and get yourself a "Wimpy Burger". The only word I can think of to describe it with is: 'ridiculous'.

(However, the cakes there are tasty as well.)

Or try the 6" meatball sandwich. Didn't have it myself, but it's a lunch, dinner and lunch again kinda sandwich. Guy who got it while I was there was skeptical that a 6" sandwich was going to fill him up until he got it. Each meatball is, no joke, the size of a softball, and there're three of them.

Anyone know anything about Geno's Pizza Deli up north of I-10? I've heard a few good things about it but not sure.

Incidentally, while I enjoy the beer and the running club there, I'm not a fan of the food at McGuire's. It's not bad, it's just there are other places in town that are a lot better overall, especially for seafood, etc. The steaks are their best feature, but they look really small when they bring them out.

The wimpy burger is at least two or three meals for me, and then there's still a little something-something left for the dog.

Ah yes, the ever present Indian question. Finest food on the planet. Unfortunately the answer is no, not in Pensacola. I am aware of a place in Mobile, but I've never eaten there. I believe it's near one of the airports, Downtown or Regional. Never found one out in Fort Walton/Destin.

SO UNFORTUNATE!! I can't believe that I'm over an hour away from any form of Vindaloo or Tikka Masala. Good ol' cosmopolitan Pensacola. :(

There was an awesome pizza joint on the beach in Perdido...forgot the name. For those of you in Milton who like ribs, theres a joint up the road, in Brewton, Al that has the best.

Never went there, but the best place I've ever eaten Mexican, and I've been to Texas and California, is Cactus Flower in Pensacola. It's on the spreadsheet. GO THERE.

I Went to the Melting Pot on saturday and experienced the worst service of my life. The server actually dropped a plate and splattered food on my friend without even noticing. Sat there for 4 hours having to cook my own food at absurd prices. I recommend never going there.

If we wanted Indian food in P'cola, we'd have asked for it.

    We didn't ask.

Seriously though, probably better off in Mobile. More port traffic, more ethnicity. It's like asking for a good Chinese joint in Potosi, Wisconsin - it just probably isn't gonna happen.
