PRK waiver

I am prior enlisted and I got PRK down at Camp Pendleton (July 2007). I then went through my cycloplegic exam and passed it in December 2008. Now MEPS is saying that I need a more up to date exam. Does anyone know what that's all about? I thought the cycloplegic was a pretty definitive test? Even my recruiter didn't seem to know exactly what to say.
It seems like MEPS won't even let me go down there before I have all of this stuff. I thought the reason to go to MEPS was to check for all of this.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I am supposed to be going down there tomorrow.

You'll have different results from your cyclo exam post-PRK vs. pre-PRK. As for why MEPS wants you to do the cyclo first, who knows? That surely wasn't my experience. For me personally, the timeline went something like this: MEPS at the end of November, PRK at the beginning of Dec, 3 month for waiver over at the beginning of March, cyclo a week later, flight physical tbd. Hope that helps.

Hey man, I appreciate the response, but it's not really what I was looking for. I had my surgery 18 months ago, and when I first started applying to the Officer program in Nov. 08, my OSO had me go to a doctor at the AF base to take the cyclo test, that was in mid-December 08, and I passed it with no problems. Now, I'm supposed to be at MEPS in the am and they said at noon today that they want a more recent exam than my Dec. Cyclo. Which wasn't something I could do at the last minute on a Friday. I just feel like I'm getting the run-around here, so I was curious if anyone had been in this situation and what s/he did.
I do appreciate you responding though.

Sorry about that, I'm using my wife's phone at the gym. And didn't realize she was automatically signed in. (She has an account on here too.)
