PRK Enlightenment?

Update:

Had a PRK consult today. The doctor said that my cornea topography was too irregular to operate on, not to mention it may not even be a cornea issue. He said my eye sight was too good to risk doing any type of surgery and that as a doctor he would not advise getting the surgery done.

Pretty much the answer I was expecting. Hopefully I can close out my Navy application cleanly so that it does not look bad.

Going to apply in June for the USMC ground officer program.

Good luck deadweather. You have had a raw deal so far. I think based on your commitment and sacrifice just to get in, the military would be better with you included than they would be without you.

Thanks for the nice words. I really appreciate it. I can only hope that I get a REAL shot at being an officer.

Sorry this is kind of a day late and a dollar short, but just wanted you to know that you 1) don't have to rely on the MEPS machine for your manifest refraction. I failed to get correctable to 20/20 on that as well but a simple letter after a docs visit overruled that. And 2) the dilated refraction numbers don't matter as long as the manifest is correctable to 20/20

I went to the doctor and they corrected 20/20 -2 without dilation. NAMI said that wasn't good enough for Pilot but "possibly" NFO. I already sent my FS decline email so there is nothing I can do now anyways. Thanks for the info though. Maybe my whole situation being posted on this board will help others in the future.
