That is the way I learned how to do most admin tasks in the Navy. Probably why I was never an admin officer ;).

Does anyone have a connection to get him to the O Club on that Friday? We can plan an AWG bombardment. I think I'm gonna stop in Abbott's to order trousers and a cover next week...probably just wear the G-1 for now and hold off on the green jacket until I have some bling for the left chest area.

Ordered my greens today...will be wearing them to the Pcola O Club ASAP. The Abbott's people said I was the second person to order them today.

Way ahead of you. However, Admirals don't react to surprises favorably. As soon as I hear something concrete, I will pass. Working the Uniform Board stuff...

Why is there the possibility of even more cool stuff because I left the Navy for the Air Force?!?

Yesterday at the TW-6 standdown the Commodore made note of Doc Dalitsch's AWGs and how they would be going away and if people were interested in saving them to sign the petition. I've already signed this, but is there another petition outside of Pcola (ie at TW-4,5)? That would be awesome.

I have copies of the signature pages from Doc Dalitsch to add to his petition. I will be the point man for the Tidewater AWG signees.

If you want to save AWGs and you are in the tidewater area, contact me. Rules are you have to be a Navy E-7 thru O-10, so it is people that can or have wear the AWGs signing the petition.

ENS, ADM, CPOs, all welcome to sign.

If I can make it to the Tailhook FCLP Thursday, I will have copies with me.

    MB,
Can you send a copy of the page out to the San Diego area? I'm sure I could wrangle up some signatures!

Seeing as I just bought a vintage 1959 AWG jacket on eBay for $40 (handmade in Yokosuka, very high quality; fits like a glove), I have a vested interest, send me the sheets for Jax area?

Interesting, why is this limited to the FO training command? You would think that the leadership of the rest of the training pipelines would have mentioned such an issue as well

I don't know if he's got a separate petition going on up at Whiting, but since Doc is assigned to NASC it's easier for him to get signatures. He's also in the club every Friday wearing his AWGs and imploring young Ensigns to sign.

    Just an update-

I've been tasked with writing a letter for a 3-star to the uniform board, asking for what I had asked in my letter, but now with more thrust behind it.

Aviation Service Greens.. It just might happen.

Casey, if this happens, I'll find someone to make a bronze figure of you, it will have a prominent spot in the bus that I buy to be designated as the dd bus for what ever squadron I happen to be a part of at the time.

I never really paid attention to this petition most of the time I've been registered (read lurking) on the site. But tonight I've spent hours going through this thread and all the struggle MB and others have gone through to keep this uniform. Not only is the uniform worth keeping for the sake of tradition, but it's spiffy as hell too.

Fight the good fight guys. Hopefully I'll get to wear these one day too.

How's Big Navy looking at the AWG revival with Service Khaki coming back as well? Could Greens be sold as an "equivalent alternate" to SDK's?

Doubtful. We'd still have one more uniform that the Swarriors would be able to bitch about us being special.

Are you asking what ADM Guadagnini thinks about them personally or are you asking what's the policy on wearing them in the training commands?
