I thought that I would just throw this out being tax season and all. I have a Jan. 24 2009 OCS date and I was wondering what everyone with an early date like that did to get your taxes done. I know that they don't release our w-2's until almost the end of January. Usually I take my stuff to the old accountant around that time but my worry is that being gone and busy with something else in RI, do people run into trouble submitting their tax stuff or is it a non-issue?

maybe if possible, have someone you know fill out the forms, mail you what you need to sign, and send it in. That is what my wife and I are most likely gonna do.

You could always file for an extension:

    http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=98155,00.html

This will give you an additional six months to file your return, and you have a pretty good reason. I've never done this before but I know people who get an extension pretty much every year, so it can't be too difficult. Then again, it is the IRS.
