P-8 Selection

I've been hearing rumors that you can select P-8's out of primary. Anybody have any insight to the truth of this?

I know the first batch of Cat I pilots have been selected and are finishing up now in VT-35.

This. Ask STUCON/flight lead/advisor. I heard a rumor that, as of 01JAN12, it could be put as a first choice on your dream sheet so look into that if you want it.

Considering there is a CAT I class starting sometime this summer it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I am still holding out for the TIE Fighter for my first choice, P-8's are a close second

Actually, given the choice I'd probably pick B-Wing. They seem cooler.

On a related note of selection... What are my chances of selecting the zanthium out of primary, or do I have to go to advanced first?

RADMR? I think you mean RDML. But I got what you're saying. I wonder if selection for P-8 is the same for the NFOs, which was during Primary I last remember.

Met a few fellas from the first P-8A FRS class tonight during the MPRA symposium. VP-16 will be the first squadron to transition starting in June and the first group of Cat I Pilots, NFO's and AWO's are onboard and getting ready to start training. The P-8A is HERE !!!!!

Supposedly the first primary selects for P8's were back in October of 2011 from VT-3....HOWEVER they found out about 2 weeks ago that even though their selection papers say P8, someone high up argued to keep that decision at the FRS level instead, so sounds like you just finish multi-engine training, head to JAX's and then they figure it out. Take this with a big grain of salt I'm just a Marine who likes gossip and doesn't understand it completely.

B-Wing is cool, but you're out of your mind if you'd take that over an x-wing-have you SEEN how LUXURIOUS the x-wing's cockpit is?

That's only because they haven't learned that you should never fly the "A" model of anything.

I got a chance to look through the developing Tech manual for P-8 on the high side. I got through about 10 pages before my first migraine.
