OCS Application changes

You meet the requirements to apply, everything else is unknown, don't know the quality of other applicants or numbers they will have.

I take it you meet the age requirement.

yes I am 28 and I just sent my OCS physical to the officer recruiter today. I got a clean bill of health. I've been in the army for 11 years also. Don't know if that helps or hurts

The info just came out, so unless his chain of command has fwd'd the info he may not know yet, this wasn't out last week. Your OR may not even know you have to have your physical done and a PQ letter from N3M to submit your application.
I just went through MEPS with no problems and my recruiter is going to submit my package next week. He hasnt mentioned anything about the new gpa requirements. My concern is that my package will be automatically rejected as soon as it gets to NRC.

You are not alone I am sure, welcome to being a guinea pig. I would rather NRC be strict on the ASTB and flexible on the GPA, and maybe they will be.

I read the actual document today, and it isn't as strict as what I was told.

What is going on is they are designating people "quality" or "not quality" if a person is designated "not quality" the NRD and the recruiter receives no credit for that person, and it sounds as if a person is "not quality" they could still be picked but the boards will go thru the "quality" applicants first.

to be considered "quality" SWO/PILOT/NFO ASTB 6 or greater, OAR 48 or better, GPA 3.0 or better and physical done. Supply must have OAR 48 GPA 3.0 or greater AND interview from active supply office O-5 or above.

I hope they are lenient on GPA for tech majors such as engineering.

nope, no grace for degree or school, but what still isn't clear is what if a person has GPA less than 3.o and ASTB 6 or greater, the memo didn't discuss that, I would hope that is a case there would be an exception.

That would be my case exactly:
-PFAR 8
-OAR 61
-GPA 2.99
-Physical done and passed

NavyOffRec,

You are saying that for Supply Corps the OAR has to be no less than 48?

To be considered "quality" you have to meet the requirements they set and have a supply officer interview who is O-5 or above.

I wouldn't worry too much about it though they have already said the next supply board is probably going to be cancelled, they have enough people already selected to meet FY13 goal and then some.

NOR,

Any idea of stats requirements to be considered quality for an intel applicant? I have a Sailor that wants to apply for Intel as primary, Supply as secondary. She's still in the early stages of the process but her OAR is scheduled for the 22nd.

Supply board may get cancelled, it was mentioned specifically, probably because of the people that get NPQ for line designators in OCS and then shift over.

Intel does not have any requirements for quality or non quality, probably because they just didn't get to it yet, but Intel is focusing more on technical degrees 60/40 split tech/non tech, very high GPA is also key. Intel generally has low numbers of billets and the highest number of applicants I think in one case the selection rate was 2 or 3%

Is there a specific form that should be used for the interview by the O5 or above Supply Officer?

The schedule is updated again, more people have dropped off so boards have been added, I speculate they are also adding them because of the new PQ requirement prior to submission for future boards, I believe this will limit who goes to board.

These new dates will be TBD and subject to cancelling based on how things go. I really hope they go to the schedule they originally talked about which is 7 boards per FY for Pilot/NFO/SWO/Supply for you guys.
