O Club at NASP

I have a question...

I went to NASP's O Club for the first time today for lunch. When I was walking in, I saw the parking signs for O6 and above, Base CO/XO, Blue Angels CO, etc...and the closest parking spot sign had "Any Ensign or 2nd LT Parking."

I’m taking a wild chance at this but I'm guessing it is not the smartest idea to park there??? I would hate to be parked there on a Friday night when the drunks started to leave....

I'm pretty sure its legit. It was there when my dad went thru NFO primary many years ago.

It used to say "Any Ensign". It's legit. Park there, I did when it was available.

Never heard of or saw any problems ... other than the fact there's only one parking spot. Don't live in fear .... enjoy life's little perks while you can ...

Go ahead and park there. I did it all the time. It's better? That's great. I was there for the Hurricane. It was pretty trashed. Good to hear that it's back and up on its feet.

How is the scene at the o-club now? Do people go there in the evenings?

^Packed at lunch and most Friday nights. It's really nice, the service could be better but alot of their servers are brand new, so it'll get better.

I park in the spot all the time...look for the silver IS300.

they have yuengling on tap...so its great

When you get ALL the Friday nights packed out .... then work on Saturday nights ....

I used to hear stories about this O-club. But they were from people known to exaggerate, and they were pre-1990's destruction of aviator culture.

Post tailhook PC stuff, Post 9/11 no civillian women on base stuff, DUI Nazis, etc.

Dude, every fvcking O-Club in the Navy has that sh!t as far as I've seen. My theory is its all the academy guys got used to it, and thus its prevelant in the O-clubs.

Master's comment about the DUI nazis is right on, thats why we don't go to the clubhouse for drinks after flying, since there is no O-club at Mayport. That, and it closes at 7.
