I’m with @Randy Daytona on the bike, and speaking as someone who’s been riding for 12+ years; make it a winging present to yourself.
Just don’t drop it on the way out of the dealership and be the Object Lesson in Irony for a generation of instructors.

Or make your first bike a used bike...and let that be how you get all the initial stupid out of the way.

And stay away from 100 hp crotch rockets as a first bike.

Used private party or CPO cars is a good idea too. Especially if you do your research and are mechanically savvy.

I'm very grateful for all of your replies and advice, you've all been instrumental in making this car decision. I decided to get a 2017 Ford Focus ST in an ocean deep Kona Blue. The car is a blast!
