If you're in the PLC program, you can extend the amount of time you need to graduate up to a year. Thats why if its 3 semesters or more you need to do something else to get it done. I had to extend mine one semester and it was no problem.

...My OCS Bates say 11.5 on the size, so i should stick to that, right? Or should I go try on a pair of bates lights on base?

The pair of lites that I had were broken in about 2 days of just wearing them around for a little while. Definately a lot faster than the other pairs of boots I got. If you'd rather wait until you get on base I dont see why that would be a problem. They break in fast and plus you're already used to wearing boots if you've gone to juniors.

I've got a pair of 11.5 Bates Lights that I've worn about 3 times, in other words, every time I ran the E-Course at TBS. They aren't worn out even in the slightest, and my foot is in between an 10.5 and an 11.0. If you're interested, I'd let them go for..........$75? Let me know, hope it helps you out, I won't need them for a bit.

according to Quantico Boot, i dropped in bc i was in the area and curious, the Bates Shoe company manufactured about 3,000 pairs of boots before someone noticed the branded Eagle, Globe, and Anchor was facing the wrong direction, hence the supply problem. hope this helps.

Thanks for all your imput. Shortly after posting this I just put in the order and waited it out. They just showed up a couple days ago so I guess they corrected the problem. Ive ran in them twice and they are awesome. I can't believe I didn't get them sooner.

jdakota, for your issue with your jungles, when you go to supply buy another pair. Sure they might give you some crap cuz you have a pair, but if you KNOW they wont do you any good and only hinder your performance, its worth the crap. I'm actually sad because my ICB aren't sat and I have to get a new pair... I love those ICBs... oh well

Wear your lites whenever you run the E-Course. They suck on the Double-O though because they dont get as much traction on the rope. Its not too much running on the double-O so it pays off when you get up the rope the second time without your boots slipping. In addition most of the guys I know that tried to wear lites for Humps had terrible foot problems afterward. They dont have much support or padding at all. I wouldnt recommend wearing them with much weight on your back. You can get away with pretty much any boot in Garrison as long as they are clean. Hold off on buying a bunch of boots before you get to TBS. Every once and a while they have TBS students wear boots that the Marine Corps are testing to decide what boots to buy. I got a free pair of Danner ICBs and Bates Jungles. Also, the gouge is that Belleville might be cancellikng their contract with the Marine Corps so if you like Belleville buy a pair now. Sorry long post.

boot insoles

Looking into picking up some new insoles for my boots, anybody have any suggestions? I would like some high speed ones that are good for both running and hiking.

Thanks in advance!

Rolling off this again. Superfeet green are great for boots and running shoes. Superfeet Orange aren't too bad either for boots but not so much for running shoes.
