I don't think they really want to be realistic, cause that's not good TV. (See: Lost) Come to think of it, Lost might be a good way to think about this show...

I'm a little surprised that JJ Abrams isn't involved with this... sounds right up his alley. Let's just throw in some ancient artifacts and aliens on the island.

Power crazy sub skipper, fraternization on the boat, rampant aquaflage, and the CO didn't get fired and read about it in the Navy Times. Yup, seems legit.

I'm with Brett on this one. Interesting premise, and might be worth a watch of an episode or two to see where it goes.

I like the idea of a "rogue" element of the military holding a fairly credible nuclear trump card to get what it wants/deter an attack.

I guess that could be interesting, but when I watch the trailer, I find myself having to suspend disbelief on so many levels that it's very distracting. And mind you, I used to watch Stargate SG1, which had a pretty high suspension level. That was just pure brain candy.

Let's be honest, you were hoping the successor to JAG was CHOP

I NEVER for the life of me understood why they decided to make Rab a JAG instead of a Chop for 100% realism.

So this is a cross between The Beach and Crimson Tide...

While this is a bit dated now (and also a bit unrealistic), it would make for a pretty good movie plotline!
I especially like how the author envisions the CJCS (and therefore the Joint Staff) becoming more than just advisers, but actually commanding. Some view the growth of the Joint Staff today to start to resemble the General Staffs of the Prussians and later the German Armies rather than just the staff of the advisers of the NCA.

'Cause a chop would be a bit out of place in a courtroom...

This show looks officially horrible. I sure it will get renewed.

i think i've found what i'll be picking up in the budget DVD bin at Wal-Mart before my next deployment...

I can't wait to watch the series finale when the P-3 deploys a search pattern, localizes, passively tracks for 30 mins, attacks, then reattacks within 7 mins and comes home with a triumphant ASW-202! Those guys will get mad readiness!

At least it is not "way beyond belief" as it would be if rregan3 had said SH-60 instead of P-3.

Who are we kidding...the P-3 would go rogue as well. We're suckers for setting up shop on nice tropical islands. Provided we get per diem.
