Just got PRK done today

Yeah there was only one pre-op day for me and then I came in the next week. I got my surgery done in Vero Beach, which is about an hour away from my house in Melbourne. I chose that doctor because I was recommended to him by my optometrist, whose son had the surgery done with him and is now flying jets in the Navy. I study in Gainesville, Florida so sometimes I had to travel far to go in to my checkups. But this is an important surgery, so I wanted to go the best doctor I could find. I got checked up yesterday and my vision is now at 20/15. Best thing I've ever done in my life.

Just out of curiosity, what was your eyesight before PRK? I know that when the Navy was doing PRK for prospective recruits there was a pre-op limit as to what your eyesight must be, but I don't know if the same applies for surgeries by private practices.

I don't believe that there is any pre-op' limit. I think mine was around 20/100, maybe worse. I know that even the big E on the eye chart was a little big blurry for me.

Yea man, that's about where mine was. I could read the big E, but the next row was a little blurry. Before when the Navy did the operations the pre-op limit was something like 20/200, beyond which I believe is legally blind haha

Ouch. Hip already shelled out for PRK? There's a waiver for that, sure. Just not one for being a nozzle of douche.
