Hey All, Thought I would start a thread for the upcoming boards. There is the Feb SNA board thread, but thought it would be good to have a thread for all 3 months, since there is a mix of desginators in the time frame. Just as a refresher of the schedule: Intel 19 Mar 2012 Pilot/NFO/SWO 23 Jan 2012 Supply 23 Jan 2012 19 Mar 2012 Quotas for FY13: SWO-About 50 NFO- Under 20 Pilot- About 100 AMDO-5 Intel/IW- Around 20 Supply- About 40 Just as an FYI, there is a new version of the SF86 coming out next week, so if your app is not already in AND your security clearence opened by Wednesday be prepared to do the new one. It is much simpler though, so not a big deal. Gonna do my stats in a following post. Good luck to everyone, and bravo for sticking with it!
23/F NP SWO/Intel/SNA/Supply BA in Social Sciences+, 3.49 GPA Overall Working on MA in Intl Relations and Conflict Resolution- 4.0 so far ASTB 56 5/5/5 Interviews with O-4 SNA, O-6 Intel, O-5 SWO, O-4 SWO LORs from 3 employers/supervisors, 2 academic, O-5 O-4 O-3 SWOs, O-3 Intel Americorp 900 hours, new 300 hour Different scholarship/leadership on campus/job, etc. As a odd note, my NRD no longer has an officer recruiter after my OR retires next week. This had better work! :-P
SNA and Intel were set up by my OR (he is a senior chief so had to have at least one). Intel "needs" one so he set up those. Rest of the LORs and interviews (except the O-3 Intel who I've known since HS) I have arranged over the last year and half+ at this. Participated in forums on here, usnavyocs.com, and sailorbob.com. Also made a trip to San Diego, participated in fleet week in my town. etc. Made contacts, and had people willing to help when I needed.

Lucy, Do you know what is going to happen if two of your applied communities have the board at the same day? Thanks....
NEW FROM NYNR BLOG: -Surface Warfare is closed for FY 12 and FY 13. This holds true for the SWO Options programs with the exception of the Oceanography option and they are selecting one. -SEAL, EOD and AMDO is closed for FY 12. -PAO, Intel and IW will have a few openings. (see below) -Supply is wide open and 99% chance that the first board will be in January. -CEC direct accession is closed for FY 12, CEC collegiate programs are still open. -SWO Nuke is closed for FY 12 with only a few spots for females available. -Sub Nuke is open however there are limited slots. Check it out for yourself HERE.
Futher down in his post, he put these up: FY 12 Numbers Program Surface (Ocean Option): 1 Pilot: 75 Public Affairs Officer: 2 Oceanography: 2 Information Warfare: 2 Supply: 57 EDO (SEGA): 4 Cyber Warfare: 3 Do these correspond to the same quotas Lucy posted in the OP? Are these quotas for FY12 or for FY13 (but pro rec'd in FY12)? Sorry if that doesn't make sense.
That is for fiscal year 12. Shouldn't we be looking at FY 13 numbers at this point if you're in the application process? Not likely anyone that has not been selected is going to OCS before next summer. That would put us in a FY 13 graduation date.
I'm still not entirely sure what all this means. So is the Jan 23 board not selecting for SWO anymore?
That's how I read it, yes. They've been "scheduling" boards and canceling them for the past year and a half or so. The board schedule they put out this month, as I was told, was only "tentative" anyways. Brenbuck, I suppose you're right, but with this, the absolute earliest you'd graduate from OCS would be FY '14. That assumes a lot though...
Uhh lots questions so here goes based on my info/seen- Ruby, any boards that meet around the same time will all look at your app. However, if you get picked up/selected for choice #1 in January, the IDC boards in March will not look at your application. To everyone else, Those quotas for FY12 line up with what I have (not what I posted, as I posted the fy13 numbers. There are a few extra for supply and Pilot than I thought, however he does mention those numbers were higher than projected), however, they are not for FY13. There seems to be a reoccuring...confusion with FY selection boards, and FY OCS dates from the blog. FY12 is now, boards occuring in January are nearly all for FY13 selects, meaning people will likely nto be going until July 2012 or later. It is possible quotas have changed since last month, as you should all know, or that boards have got moved, however, unless your OR tells you so/multiple people hear from their ORs about this, expect the boards to happen. If means anything, CNRC is accepting apps, so at least are still open and expected for January. Hope that helps
For anyone that has applied for supply since the last board there is going to be a board at the end of this month. I would imagine the deadline has passed but I figured I would let people know. I called the OCS processor and he said that there is a supply board at the end of this month and that I should be good to go for that board! Good luck to anyone else that is in the same boat!
This is going to sound like a stupid question, and this may not be the thread I should post it on. Im putting up an application for the Jan boards and figured what the heck. Do they take your cumlative GPA from all schools attended, or your final GPA from the school you graduated from? I transfered from one ok school (3.6) to a really good school (3.0). As you can imagine, the GPA from the ok school is much better than the other. So do they average them out, how do they figure that?
Both. Front page list gpa at most current. Separate sheet shows all schools, gpa at each, and overall gpa.
I don't know exactly when but if I were to guess I would say the 21st or 28th with results mid to late December. Thanksgiving is the 24th though so I would put my money on the 28th. Just a guess but in any case good luck Ruby!
Thanks and good luck to you too! I figured these two days too since they normally have board on Monday. Hope they will have a good mood since is the holiday season..... I have been pushed from July board all the way till this one, long wait!!!
