IP Officer requirements

Yea, I knew he was a blowhard before I ever even read his bio on his blog because nobody who knows anything with respect to the IT industry thinks that certifications are of equal worth as experience (on top of a degree). They certainly help, but until you get into the kind of certifications that cost tens of thousands of dollars at the senior levels (like CCIE where they expect that you've had at least a decade+ of experience before even considering tackling it) they're nothing more than complementary on a resume.

It's one thing if a guy runs his mouth, but actually knows what he's talking about. But to run your mouth and just be spouting garbage really chafes my nuts, so much so that this guy actually brought me out of my quasi-lurking/hibernation state because I read his shit on USNavyOCS, and then came over here and read even stupider shit.

What the hell is this guy doing, just making up these shitty buzzwords as he goes along? My friggin' degree is in telecom/IT/information systems and I've never heard of half this garbage.

No need, because he will NEVER make it to OCS! I’ve put this fucker on his ass many times on usnavyocs.com, so I’ve come to know him very well.

#1, He used to be AF reserve and I think he’s bitter because the AF officer recruiter won’t even talk to him, much less submit his application. So Navy is his second choice.

#2, he has a 2.3 GPA, way below the minimum GPA to be competitive for OCS in ANY designator. Its hard for people with 3.3 GPAs to get accepted, so I’m sure his application will be a PRO HELL NO!!

#3, he has a recent injury (herniated disk in his back) so I think he’s going to be medically disqual’d because of it… bummer!

There are some other stuff wrong with this guy that will prevent him from ever wearing the uniform of a naval officer, but just talking about this guy… and now seeing his face has caused me to throw up in my mouth!!

If you go to UNC's website, the BSIS that he has earned comes from the School of Library and Information Science. Seems like watered down crap to me.

Odds are he's no Conan the Librarian.
