Interservice Transfer- Navy IRR to Marine Corps pilot

I am a Navy officer about to transition to the Navy IRR in October 2014. I have a very intense interest in switching gears and becoming a Marine Corps pilot. I know that the Marine Corps is downsizing like no other. I also know that I cannot switch from reserve to active duty. I would have to switch from Navy Reserve to Marine Reserve, then to active duty. I was thinking about going to back to school and getting an aerospace degree and a private pilot's license since I have always loved aviation. I do not care how painful the path will be. I just want to get there.
Does anyone else have any ideas/words of wisdom to offer on this difficult situation?

I'm an active duty Marine Officer and I have tried to make the switch to Marine Aviator (also looked into an IST with big Navy) but let me tell you, it's near impossible. Our higher rank means they would be paying us as an 0-2 or 0-3 through flight school which is not desirable. Most ISTs go to the military academies to be filled. I just don't think it's doable to make this switch. I have been trying for over a year...if you get any more insight let me know.
SECNAVINST 1OOO.7F is a good reference if you want to look into it for yourself.

I've never heard of anyone going from Marine Reservist to active duty SNA. Assuming it were possible, an aerospace degree won't make a difference.

Not to mention that you would have to go through TBS as well.
