I'm not sure where to start. Is it too late?

T33, just FYI, you'll only net $100/mo your first year, so it may be tough (or at least it will severely limit your liberty options) if you plan to send the entire sum home each month. It does go up (a little bit) each subsequent year - by firstie year you'll be netting $3-400, IIRC.

Yeah that's why I'm starting to save starting now. So by the time I get admitted, it wont be a problem. Thanks.

That's if I get admitted, I'm hoping to be apart of the lucky batch.

Speaking of lucky.

What are competitive ACT scores?

I see all the SAT scores but no one ever says an ACT score.

Is SAT better to take? Cause I'll take it.

I took the ACT...I heard it was better for people like me. It depends on you.

Pretty sure they'll accept either or.

A 26 on the ACT is considered equivalent to a 600 on the SAT. They will in fact accept your best scores from either test (though you can't intermix one ACT and one SAT score to get a higher total).

I've been thinking of reapplying to USNA for the class of 2019 (I know I won't start the app for a while) but the thing holding me back is the question of age; more specifically I'll be 22, almost 23, on I-day and 26 at graduation if I were to go through with all of this and get accepted. Is commissioning that late considered a bad thing? Would it have any effect on a career? I understand Prior-E's do it all the time, but they have years of experience, whereas I'm just a college student in a chem major.

As for commissioning at 26, that should have no negative effect on your career, compared to those commissioned at a younger age. The most important factor affecting your career will be PERFORMANCE and ATTITUDE, regardless of age.

Prior-E's make fine Officers, but their career advancement chances are the same as any other commissioning source. It's how you perform after commissioning.. not the source, that counts!:)

I commissioned at 25. No one really cares or asks about age, and unless you have gray hairs or some other sign of aging, people will usually assume you are in your lower 20s until you make O-3, as that's the aveage age of the people in your peer group who commissioned from USNA or NROTC.
