How to become a Naval officer?

That's a good point. Even though he asked about becoming a Naval Officer, it's sound advice to consider applying for a commission in more than one branch of service. Besides, I would think that possessing information vegetable, animal, and mineral is an enviable thing for a naval officer too.

At 36, that's likely going to require an unlikely waiver for the Marines. If the Air Force is still limiting the civilian board to rated AFSCs, then that's a wash. At that point, it's realistically Navy for certain designators, and Army if he's a doctor or something high-need but otherwise not likely. Is Coast Guard an option at that age?
