Actually, that looks very much like F-14 RIO (callsign) Yossarian, who was in VF-2 at the time... seriously. He spent some time in Iran, too.

Yoss' now lives in the Northwest, looks a little older but not much different, and still rides his Harley with his wife all around the country.

Almost every little boy (and a few girls) I know whose dad is a pilot/nfo has had at least one flight suit. Most are complete with squadron and air wing patches.

Heck, the PRs at Corpus gave me kiddie size flight suits one day when I went to pick up some of my stuff and had my kids with me.

In the old VAW-11 Guppy Dets, I'd go from number six in seniority to OinC when ever the boat got within range of NORIS. They said " You're single. You have no reason to fly ashore." Right!

It always sucked being single, volentold for every boat Det and skipped over for the fun Dets.
