What does it mean to be "deferred" by the IP selection board? My OR said that I'm not a Select, nor a non-Select, but have been deferred...

Thank you for the quick reply RUFiO181! I know I'll be getting more detail from my OR at some point, but does deferred mean that those open loops should/can be closed, then my application reviewed at the next selection board? I think I'm stuck on the "deferred" vs. simply being a non-select.

Again, I really appreciate your guidance!

Has anyone received their select letters yet? I got the initial select notification on 26 Jan; and was told today that I’d be drilling at Gillem. From what I understand, I should be able to sign my COMDOCS once my letter comes in and my actual billet is assigned.

Still waiting. I've been chatting with another guy that got selected from my region and he's in the same boat. I followed up with the recruiter a couple weeks ago but there's no news so just chilling until it comes through so as not to be a nuisance.

Negative. I expect it will be a little while still. So far I've filled out the RRA and submitted my conditional release (current enlisted) which is a process in itself.

I just signed my RRA today. Once that’s complete, I should be able to commission. I was told it shouldn’t be but another week or so.

Accepted a billet at Fort Sheridan, IL. Anyone else get assigned there? Just waiting on the word to commission, start drilling, and hopefully get a spot in the DCOIC this summer.

Still waiting to hear an update on commissioning docs. I'm an old hand at "hurry up and wait", but I have to admit I'm a little antsy to get started!

I’m still waiting for my select letter to come in, so that I can do the paperwork and take the oath. It’s been almost two weeks since I got that update. Not sure about anyone else in the Southeast.

Trying to start up/reinvigorate the IWC JO mafia.

I survived my first two years and being a non-prior I made plenty of mistakes, and would like to help others avoid them. Also, I know getting more viewpoints can solve a problem faster (in general).
