Hi everyone,

Plan on going into the navy in 6 months. I’ll have my degree by then. I’m going to attend officer candidate school and study up on the astb.

I really want to enjoy my time in the navy. I can’t seem to decide which job to pick. So I was hoping you can give me ideas. I am weak at math, strong at reading. Not so good at science. My major is Political Science.

I don’t mind doing physical labor. As long as it’s somewhat enjoyable. Is there anything else I can provide to give you guidance in telling me some fun navy positions? I am not asking for it to be fun all the time or some cake walk. The navy website doesn’t provide a lot of insight into the job other than the paragraph under each position. So my goal is to get some physical real life responses here.

Take some time to peruse the site and get a feel for the different communities. Use the Google Machine and ask it some questions. Then come back and ask specific questions. We're not here to tell you what you should do with your life.

If I had gotten my first pick in the Navy, I would have been flying jets in Kingsville. If I had gotten my second pick, it would have been jets in Meridian. Thank goodness I lost out to an NFO-Pilot transition and ended up with C-2s.

But yeah, my advice for someone undecided is to go with EODDave's pick: SWO.
